Teens engage in risky behaviors that can be harmful to their health
Unintentional injury is the leading preventable cause of death for teens
Teens without health insurance rarely get routine health care
School is where teens are for most of their day
Student Health Center:

Provides health care services specific to the adolescent population
Encourages healthy behaviors
Keeps students in school and parents at work
Improves access to health care for teens
Is overseen by a community advisory board
Links with school staff to improve student’s chances of success
