Beth Mayberry & Liza English-Kelly
Beth Mayberry serves as an Early Childhood Educator at Asheville Primary. She has been a Lower Elementary Educator for the past two years at APS. She has her Lower and Upper Elementary Montessori Certification, as well as a state elementary and preschool teaching license. She began her education career in Washington, DC as a bilingual teaching fellow at a Spanish-immersion and expeditionary learning public charter school with a focus on sustainability. Previously, she worked with international non-profit organizations on education, health, and early childhood development programs in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe. She was a Peace Corps youth development volunteer in Honduras and Ecuador. Her educational experience includes a Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics and Social Work from Texas Christian University (TCU), and a Master’s Degree in International Education Policy from Harvard University. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and trail running with her partner, Jensen, and her welsh corgi, Muckaluck.
Ms. Liza Kelly is an Instructional Assistant in the Early Chilhood class with Ms. Beth. Ms. Liza is entering her third year as an IA at Asheville Primary and is valued for her peaceful demeaner and noted for her management of the Montessori PreK nap room. Ms. Liza is also editor of the school yearbook.
