Hall Fletcher Elementary
Hall Fletcher Construction Updates and FAQ
We are thrilled to officially share that Phase 1 of our exciting 18-month renovation project is underway. Hall Fletcher is a fantastic school with a proud history and strong foundations, but just like our homes, our school needs periodic updates to maintain its integrity, efficiency, and safety. This necessary investment will ensure our building remains a modern, safe, and welcoming environment that fully meets the needs of our students and staff for generations to come. This page is dedicated to keep our community up-to-date and engaged in every step of the process.
Led by Vannoy Construction (builder) and LS3P (architect), this comprehensive modernization includes full HVAC upgrades, facility-wide window replacements, an upgraded security entryway, a complete kitchen remodel, and a brand-new multi-story elevator.
Please note that the majority of construction activity is scheduled during the summers of 2026 and 2027, but there will be minor disruptions throughout the 2026–2027 school year. Our administration and District Operations Team are working closely with Vannoy Construction to keep daily school operations running smoothly.

What can our students, staff and families expect?
-
Exciting Campus Upgrades: Many improvements will take place behind the scenes within our walls and ceilings to boost our school's longevity. Key updates include energy-efficient windows, modernized HVAC systems, enhanced safety systems, and a new elevator.
-
Protecting Student Learning: Construction schedules are being mapped out well in advance. If work impacts a specific section of the building, classes will temporarily relocate to alternative classroom spaces away from the noise, returning to their regular rooms once the work is complete. Furthermore, all construction will pause entirely during state testing and other critical school events.
-
Prioritizing Campus Safety: Over the summer, we are updating our comprehensive school safety plan to adjust for shifting building access points, playground routes, and emergency exits. We will meet monthly with the district safety office to adapt these plans as the project evolves. Additionally, every worker on campus must pass a background check and wear a distinct identifier so staff can easily recognize approved personnel.
What is the timeline?
To minimize disruption to learning, the project schedule is tightly coordinated around the school calendar and is projected to be completed in October, 2027.
- August 13, 2026: School staff return to the building.
- August 24, 2026: First day of school! Students return for the 2026-2027 school year.
- 2026-2027 Academic School Year: Controlled, phased classroom updates will
- Summer 2027: High disruption interior work (kitchen remodel and secure entryway)
- October 11, 2027: Anticipated final project completion.
Note: Controlled, phased classroom updates will continue in small, isolated sections throughout the active 2026-2027 school year.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and shared enthusiasm as we undergo this exciting renovation to ensure the long term success of our school.
