Secondary Education
Asheville City Schools aims to empower and engage every child to learn, discover, and thrive. Our secondary programming is designed to meet the needs and interests of all our students, and to prepare them for life after graduation, whether it be college or career.
All ACS schools follow the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. These courses of study ensure that all students across North Carolina receive the same curriculum in a given year.
Students in Asheville City Schools have two choices for middle school, Asheville Middle School and Montford North Star Academy, and two choices for high school, Asheville High School and the School of Inquiry and Life Sciences at Asheville (SILSA).
