Beth Mayberry serves as an Early Childhood Educator at Asheville Primary. This is her 4th year as a lead educator at Asheville Primary School. She was a Lower Elementary (1st-3rd grade) lead educator for her first two years, and this is her second year as an Early Childhood (ages 3-6) lead educator. She has her Lower and Upper Elementary Montessori Certification, as well as a state elementary and preschool teaching license. She began her education career in Washington, DC as a bilingual teaching fellow at a Spanish-immersion and expeditionary learning public charter school with a focus on sustainability. Previously, she worked with international non-profit organizations on education, health, and early childhood development programs in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe. She was a Peace Corps youth development volunteer in Honduras and Ecuador, and she speaks Spanish. Her educational experience includes a Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics and Social Work from Texas Christian University (TCU), and a Master’s Degree in International Education Policy from Harvard University. In her free time, she enjoys trail running, gardening, reading, singing, and playing guitar. She also enjoys backpacking and hiking with her husband, Jensen, and their senior welsh corgi, Muckaluck.
