Beth Mayberry & Xavier Latorre Rodriguez
Beth Mayberry is a Lower Elementary Educator at Asheville Primary School. This is her second year as a Montessori educator at Asheville Primary School. She is committed to creating an engaging learning environment where children can freely explore their interests, while also meeting rigorous academic standards.
Ms. Beth began her education career in Washington, DC as a bilingual teaching fellow at a Spanish-immersion and expeditionary learning public charter school with a focus on sustainability. Previously, she worked with international non-profit organizations on education, health, and early childhood development programs in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe. She was a Peace Corp youth development volunteer in Honduras and Ecuador. Her educational experience includes a Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics and Social Work from Texas Christian University (TCU), and a Master’s Degree in International Education Policy from Harvard University. She is a licensed elementary teacher in North Carolina, and she will be completing her Montessori Lower Elementary Certification program this Spring. Outside of school, she enjoys hiking and trail running with her partner and their Welsh corgi.
Ms. Beth is working with Instructional Assistant, Xavier LaTorre to create a nurturing learning environment that is welcoming to first, second, and third graders. Mr. Xavier previously served as an assistant in the Asheville City Schools Preschool Program. To the Montessori environment Mr. Xavier brings his training in Conscious Discipline. It is exciting to see this team working together with the Lower Elementary students.
