Observation Bee Hive
Claxton beekeeper, Tricia, demonstrates how to take a frame out of our observation hive. Periodically, our hive has collapsed or swarmed, which requires extra support from our beekeeper.
The Claxton Honeybees are located in the media center, making us #190 of the Bee Cause Project Observation Hives! This self-contained bee hive allows our students to learn more about the importance of these pollinators in a safe way. Starting in 2018, school slowly transitioned to having our mascot be represented by a honeybee and began a yearly tradition of Bee Day!
