Federal Desegregation Order (1991)

The Asheville City Schools Enrollment Office assigns students in accordance with school board enrollment policies, student choice, space and capacity, and the following 1991 Federal Asheville City Schools Student Assignment Plan (Desegregation Order). 

Excerpt from Section 2, Part 1 of Federal Desegregation Order:

"For individual schools, the goal of the Asheville City Schools is that minority enrollment be no more than 15 percent above or below the system minority enrollment and that, whenever possible, minority enrollment be no more than 10 percent above or below the system minority enrollment."
