For Community

At Asheville City Schools, we recognize that our strength is rooted in the vibrant community that surrounds us. We believe that when our schools thrive, Asheville thrives, and we are committed to building meaningful partnerships with local neighbors, businesses, and civic organizations. This space is dedicated to our community members who wish to stay informed about district progress, explore volunteer opportunities, or learn about our facilities and public initiatives. We invite you to join us in our mission to empower every student, as we work together to cultivate a future where our entire city can grow and succeed.

Together, We Thrive

At Asheville City Schools, we believe that strong schools are built on strong partnerships. Our collaboration with families, local organizations, businesses, and community leaders plays a vital role in helping every student succeed.

Why Community Matters

We know that educating a child is not the responsibility of schools alone—it takes a whole community. When we work together, we can create meaningful learning experiences, offer greater support for students and families, and strengthen the overall well-being of our city.

Get Involved

Whether you're a parent, a local business owner, a nonprofit leader, or a neighbor who cares, there’s a place for you in Asheville City Schools. Together, we can continue building a district that reflects the values, hopes, and strengths of our entire community.

You can share your experience with our students and staff in several ways:

  • Support work-based learning opportunities by registering your business. Work-based learning (WBL) enables students to connect with your business for opportunities like internships, apprenticeships, mentoring, job shadowing and more.
  • Provide materials, direct or In-kind donations. Support students and teachers by donating items that can be distributed at the William Randolph Community Hub, at teacher appreciation offerings and events, in-class reading programs and fundraisers.
