Charlotte "Millie" Johnson Named SILSA's Salutatorian
Finishing second amongst her classmates, Charlotte "Millie" Johnson is the School Of Inquiry And Life Science's Salutatorian. The daughter of Teesha Johnson, she is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Science Honor Society, the National Art Honor Society, the Gay-Straight Alliance and Mu Alpha Theta, where she held the role of President her Senior Year. Throughout high school, Johnson took seven Advanced Placement classes and nine A-B Tech courses. Johnson was also a student-tutor for three years where she specialized in Math and Chemistry. She played field hockey all four years of high school and was the varsity team’s goalie her Sophomore, Junior and Season season. Johnson was part of USA Field Hockey’s National Futures Program and was also named to the state’s Field Hockey Team this school year. She. made 1st Conference as a Junior and Senior as well as 2nd Conference her Sophomore year. Additionally, she played for Asheville High School’s Lacrosse Team during their inaugural season. Throughout high school, she volunteered with the YWCA, spending her Wednesdays and Saturdays coaching field hockey. Johnson too received departmental awards for English I Honors, Math III Honors and Spanish III Honors. She was also part of SILSA’s Top 10 her Freshman, Junior and Senior year. She currently works at Papa John’s Pizza. In the fall, Johnson will attend Albright College. In addition to continuing her field hockey career, she plans to major in Education with a 4 + 1 year Master’s Program and minor in either Environmental Sciences or Chemistry.
