Share Your Feedback! Asheville High School/SILSA Athletic Director Survey Now Open!

Dear Asheville City Schools Families and Cougar Sports Fans,

There are few places I’d rather be than cheering on our Cougars!

I invite you to help us select our next Athletic Director and support the success of all of our student-athletes and athletic programs. The position for Asheville High School and SILSA’s next Athletic Director has been advertised. Applications will be accepted until July 5th, 2019.

A short Asheville High School/SILSA Athletic Director Community Survey has been created.  It will be open now through Wednesday, July 10th. Please complete the survey! The interview team will incorporate your input as part of their upcoming interviews.

As you may remember, Ms. Cush and I held parent input nights when we were looking to hire our next Band Director for Asheville High School and SILSA this past spring.  We are now asking for your feedback in a survey form knowing it’s the week of July 4th and several Cougar families are out of town. I appreciate your support in helping Asheville High School and SILSA determine the best fit for our student-athletes, coaches and Cougar Sports Fans.

I am convening an interview committee comprised of myself and Ms. Cush, coaches, student-athletes, parent representatives and Cougar sports alumni. We will review applications the week of July 8th. We will hold our first round of interviews the week of July 15th.  A second round will occur the week of July 22nd, if needed. We will then submit our final recommendation to Interim Superintendent Dr. Bobbie Short by July 31st.

Just this past school year, our student-athletes brought home state champion titles in Women’s Golf and Indoor Track as well as Western Mountain Athletic Conference titles in Men’s Soccer, Men’s Basketball, Men’s Track, Men’s Tennis and Baseball.  Our Cougar Sports Program is one of the top in the state, and I know the position of Athletic Director for Asheville High School and SILSA will garner a lot of interest. That’s why your input is so important.

Again, a link to the survey can be found here.  Thank you in advance for completing the survey.

Printed copies of the survey are also available beginning today at all schools and the central office. Surveys can be returned to the same locations or dropped off at the central office between 7:00 AM  to 5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.

Anyone with questions about how to complete the survey may call (828) 350-2516 between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Mondays through Thursdays for assistance.

Cougar Pride!

Dr. Jesse Dingle, Principal of Asheville High School
