Asheville High School & SILSA Students Win Big at The Equal Justice Initiative
Asheville High School and SILSA students had the opportunity to participate in the Spring 2021 essay scholarship contest with The Equal Justice Initiative in partnership with the Buncombe Community Remembrance Project.
Founded in 1989 by Bryan Stevenson, a widely acclaimed public interest lawyer and bestselling author of Just Mercy, EJI is a private, nonprofit organization that’s committed to changing the narrative about race in America, both through public education and community remembrance efforts.
