Montford North Star Academy Science Olympiad students place 2nd in region

Montford North Star Academy placed 2nd in the region in the 2023 Science Olympiad competition! 

Saturday at UNC Asheville, the MNSA 6th, 7th and 8th graders competed in 18 unique events. 

This year's events included:

Write It, Do It

The MNSA Varsity team placed 1st in the Solar System competition, Crave the Wave competition, and Bridge competition. They came in 2nd in the Dynamic Planet competition. 

The school’s JV team ranked 1st in the BioProcess Lab competition, Dynamis Planet competition, Rocks and Minerals competition, Green Generation competition, Forestry competition, and Flight competition. 

Thank you to our amazing volunteer coaches, Gretchen Ross, Kris Moore, Lexi Low, Tom House, Steve Sarnie, Catherine Gooding, and Jim Tracy  for working so hard to support these students! 

The Montford North Star Academy Science Olympiad teams will now head to the state competition on April 22nd at NC State University in Raleigh.
